Red means stop.
Well this isn't really like a random thought. It's more of news of what happened to me and a friend yesterday. I was at a conference for National Council of Youth Leadership out at Kirkwood and I rode with one of my friends. As we were leaving and driving back to the high school we got stopped by a red light just like the three cars in front of us did. We were stopped for probably fifteen seconds before we heard the squealing of the rubber tires coming closer and closer towards our ears. Then we look at each other and CRRUUNCH went the back of her car. Our heads flew forward right along with her car. We hit the car in front of her, but luckily it had no damage. However, the back of my friends car was cracked and damaged. It looked like the piece of the puzzle that looks like it should fit, but it just won't actually come together. Our heads were throbbing and my friends' neck was extremely sore. After going through the process of calling the police and discussing all the insurance information with the nineteen year old guy that hit us, we were back on the road and heading to the school again. We went to our school trainer to see if she could diagnose us with the symptoms that we were having and she couldn't. Since insurance was involved we had to go to the doctor. I did what the trainer said and my dad took me to the doctor. The doctor was concerned that my headache was getting worse and I was feeling off balanced when I walked. Unfortunately since she was so concerned, I was sent to the hospital! A little ridiculous I thought for just having a headache. Once I arrived at the hospital I was sent to the Emergency Room, once again a little far fetched, and I was given a wrist band with my name on it. Probably my favorite part of the whole day, I have the wrist band on my keys now. It's a good thing that I wasn't seriously in need of assistance because I sat there for about ten minutes waiting to get called into this little see through glass room. They asked me the same questions the doctor did, and in the end they told me I was fine. I knew I was fine the whole time, but they were being so over protective and I was getting irritated with it. Anyways, that was my eventful day yesterday. My advice is don't drive on Kirkwood Boulevard if someone in a blueish-grey car is behind you.

IM BACK.
I'm back! It's been awhile since I've last posted so I apologize immensley. I had a great summer filled with softball every single day. Although it may seem like I'm complaining and being sarcastic, I'm not. Softball was actually fun this year and we did the best we have ever done before! We even accomplished this without our regular assistant coach. She had to move to Germany for a year because of business reasons so we were accompanied by another coach for the season! It was fun and enjoyable getting to learn the different skills and life lessons that the other coach taught us, but we all stilled missed our original coach. Anyways enough about the details. Our original coach will be coming back next season and the replacement coach won't be. The replacement coach got another coaching opportunity and she decided to take it. It'll be weird without her, but I'm sure she'll come visit. Hopefully she will anyways. She was really nice and fun! Well enough about softball.
Now that I'm back on the web, expect something everyday! I'm going to try and write something every day of the school week, so lets hope that I don't fail. Anyways hope you all enjoyed your summer and the rest of your day. Just remember I'm back so come and visit my website.

Distant Distractions
I am one of those people that get distracted extremely easily. It's nice sometimes but other times it just sucks. Not being able to focus while a teacher is giving instructions or explanations makes things a little bit more difficult, but keeping your brain entertained just by turning your head and watching the squirrel climb up the tree definitely has its benefits. Being distracted by little things keeps me on my toes at all times. The littlest things are usually distractions for me. I wonder why some people get so distracted while others just stay focused on something for hours and hours. If I get bored enough listening to someone talk, I can get entertained by little cracks or doodles on the desk I'm sitting at or on the walls near me. Distractions effect most people, but everyone gets distracted by different things. Some people get distracted by little things, some get distracted by large things. Some get distracted by both, like me. Hopefully I distracted you ;)

Tingling sensation and watering eyes, all for nothing.
Where do sneezes go? When you get that tingling sensation that is almost about to shoot through your nose and slobber shooting from your mouth. The tingle and the watering eyes is all of a sudden is gone. How does something so strong just disappear? Maybe you swallow your sneeze or it just comes out slowly from breathing. Honestly, I wish that the sneeze would just come out. I hate getting all prepared to sneeze with my arm moving towards my face. Also standing there with watery eyes that are starting to slightly close, with a wide open mouth doesn't make you look like the most attractive person in the world. I wanna find out where those sneezes are disappearing to.

Only the nose knows
That thing right in the middle of your face. The thing that has two holes underneath of it. Yep, you guessed it... I'm talking about your nose. Noses are a wonderful thing to have. They help you smell those cookies that your mom is cooking in the oven or that terrible stench coming from down the hall where your dad just walked out. It helps you smell the good, the bad, and the completely disgusting. It can warn you from things and it can even help you move towards something. Everyone wants to be around something that smells good. The biggest thing I'm curious to know is, "what does your nose smell like?" Will you ever get to smell your own nose? It seems like the only thing you should be able to smell is the inside of your nose since it's right there. Do noses smell like flesh? Or do they smell like a delicious blueberry pie? We should be able to know what the inside of our noses smell like. It just seems like it's fair considering it's what helps us smell so much.
Social Society
Driving home from work, I was sitting at a red light. As the cars were driving across my path, my eyes wandered to the inside of the vehicle to what each person was doing. First, there was a silver shiny car, with a blonde haired woman sitting in the drivers seat. She was barely paying attention to where she was going she was so wrapped up in how she was looking. Her eyes were stuck on the rear view that she was looking at herself in. Her left hand was lightly touching the steering wheel as her right hand was combing through her hair, messing with her eyelashes and making sure she looked good. This blonde haired girl was obsessing over her appearance more than she was her safety and those around her. The next car that drove through the intersection was a smaller, dark green car. It was a younger, brown haired boy. His eyes were obviously looking down and then I saw it. It was in his hand. The touch screen cellphone was being played with while he was driving. For this boy driving past me, technology and being in touch with his friends at all times was more important than the red light that he didn't even know he was passing through.

Just Wave and Smile
Walking down the street and a car honks at you. The natural reaction is to wave and smile, assuming that you know them. Then as you keep walking and the car passes you, you realize that you have no idea at all who that was! People always seem to look at the negative aspects of other people, but sometimes we need to look at the positive. Sometimes people are nice and can be friendly. Yesterday for instance, I was trying to get over while I was driving and a car just sped up and kept doing his thing. Lets just say that a few not so nice words and gestures were thrown out when he passed me. But then this nice guy in a white car slowed down and let me into the other lane. He left me in a much better mood than what I was in a few seconds before. Anytime I'm just in a sad mood, I wave at random people on the street. It sounds kind of strange, but I love seeing peoples reactions. A majority of people wave back and smile, occasionally you'll get the people who don't and just look confused. I find it to be entertaining though. So the next time you get honked at, just smile and wave because you might be improving an upset persons day!
